So, last night I was among the 37,000 people in attendance for the Roger Waters concert. Here’s a quick list of my thoughts about it.
2. It was less a concert than a spectacle, of which it was a magnificent one.
3. It is a stunning achievement to fill a stadium with forty thousand people for a “sit-down” concert.
4. I hope anyone who was breathing in there doesn’t have a drug test scheduled for Monday morning.
5. I still can’t decide if the “Dark Side of The Moon/Wizard of Oz” connection is real or coincidence. If it’s real, then Roger Waters is most certainly an extra-terrestrial.
And finally, A short paraphrase to explain how visually and sonically spectacular the concert was.
“At one point, there was a pig the size of a tank floating in the air above the audience directly in front of the stage… This was apparently less attention-worthy than the other stuff that was going on because I lost track of the pig and when I remembered about it, it had disappeared.”
